The library remains a location non grata for Rache. On the other hand, Bar is rather skilled at book recommendations and the couches down here are every bit as comfortable.

Tonight, she has a copy of Persuasion and a mug of (lightly spiked) apple cider. Based on the way she pauses every few chapters to take a drink and watch the crowd, she might not be adverse to company.

She lies back on the bed, pulling Strat with her.

He curls himself around her and kisses her cheek, her throat.

She lets her head fall back, giving him more room to work.

Strat seems determined to brush his lips over every inch of her neck forward of the sternocleidomastoid muscle.

Rache doesn't seem inclined to object. She brings one hand up to cradle the back of his head.

He makes happy sounds against her skin.

She grins at the ceiling, fingers kneading his scalp.

He licks at the column of her throat.

(She tastes almost the same.)

What might have been a sigh catches in the middle.

Humming softly, he nibbles her jawline.

Rache groans; the fingers in Strat's hair begin to scratch lightly.

He nibbles a little harder.
